Over the time, we have received many complaints as well as suggestions regarding the limitation of searching catalog in Default mode from our beloved Librarians and Patrons. We are really glad that our users are co-operating and supporting us with their ideas and beliefs. This is where the true strength of the Librarika community lies.

We understand that searching is a very important feature of an Integrated Library System (ILS) and being a widely used ILS system Librarika can't overlook this very critical feature. We have taken this quite seriously to address the issue.

Yes, searching in default mode is better than ever now. We brought many fields under default mode those were not possible before. Previously the default mode was limited to ISBN, ISBN_13, Title, etc. Now it has been extended to following fields:

• Abstract
• Description
• Subject
• Category
• Tags
• Series
• Call No
• Edition
• Volume
• And more

We also applied ranking between fields so that title is ranked higher than description, added ability to do partial word search while keeping the searching quality as high as possible. Hope our users will enjoy this extended capabilities.
